I have always loved DIY projects, but since O was born it is hard to find the time to do major projects.  But this mama needs to feed her inner do-it-yourself-er every once in awhile, so I jump at any opportunity for a simple project that I can do during nap time…or in this case while O watched an 11 minute long Sprout tv show.  I can’t take credit for the idea, as I saw it on my Facebook news stream while nursing O to sleep last night.  I wish I remembered where I saw it to give them some credit here, but I get a bit delirious after 45 minutes of scrolling though social media in the dark waiting for him to fall asleep!

As my New Year’s Resolution this year, I wanted to make more time for reading books that weren’t board books.  Haha, we read quite a lot of those around here these days.  I have actually read more books this year than I read in the past 2 years combined, so I guess I am off to a good start.  I also have a bad habit of starting multiple books at the same time, so I was in need of a few more bookmarks.  This bookmark is not only super simple, but only requires a few materials.  Enjoy and I hope you get as much happiness out of a simple project as I do!

Materials: envelope, scissors, and washi tape….that’s it!

Instructions: Cut a corner off of any envelope.  Add decorative washi tape and cut off excess pieces. Voila! You’re done!  Slip it over the page you are one and it’s ready to use with your favorite book!

This is so cute! I love the idea of a corner page book mark. I’ve never made one like that before. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Ooo this is so clever! I hate how if you put the book back in the book shelf, the book mark gets all bent.
