As the first official day of summer has arrived, I decided that it was time to make what I hope will become an annual tradition…the summer bucket list. At the start of summer it feels like there is so much time to enjoy lazy days, family vacations, and fun outings. However, as we know all too well, summer goes by in a flash. There is so much anticipation for the coming of summer that this year I knew I wanted to write a list of activities to make sure we fit in some time for some of summer’s best and most anticipated fun.
So I created our toddler-friendly summer bucket list! A short and sweet list of our family’s must have summer activities. In fact, summer day one is in the books and we can already cross one item off our list. Off and running! I am someone who can lament over the fact that something is coming to an end (I stressed over how much maternity leave I had left, hate to think about how many days of a vacation have already passed, and every year wish that I could go back and start summer over again as it just goes by too fast). Knowing this about myself, I thought a short summer bucket list would help me to focus on some of our favorite warm weather activities while still leaving time for relaxing and enjoying the lazy days of summer, too.
I have seen some super cute chalkboard buckets lists as well as fun hand-written ones, but this recovering perfectionist would never be happy with her handwriting, so I decided to make mine on an awesome app I would recommend to anyone, Rhonna Designs. I simply typed in our summer activities, saved the photo, and printed it out! Voila! It was as easy as that.
Here are some pics from summer day 1: antiquing in the cutest country village ever! We had way too much fun pointing out ducks in the pond, picking up an awesome antique store find (a cute wood sign that says, “Cottage”), and having a mama and son lunch date. Day 1 in the books and one thing crossed off our bucket list!
I would love to hear about what you would put on your summer bucket list!
